The original "Harley-Davidson" pinball machine was released by Midway Manufacturing under their Bally label in February 1991. It was designed by Barry Oursler and Mark Sprenger. This was the very first pinball machine produced under the Bally name to utilize the Williams Pinball Controller (WPC) system, a platform that would go on to power some of the most famous and highest-selling games of all time (like "The Addams Family" and "Twilight Zone").
